Afurada é Linda

My connection to this place is clear: my grandparents lived there; my mother was born; my aunt lives there; I grew up there.
“Afurada É Linda” uses the power of image, colour and shapes to portray Afurada in a unique way and celebrate its homogeneity in heterogeneity - which is a consequence, namely, of the different economic conditions of a population that shares the same socio-cultural identity.
In Afurada, what was new 30 years ago became traditional 20 years ago, and what was new 20 years ago became traditional 10 years ago, and so on, despite the generational change – this characterises Afurada and embodies the expression “Afurada é Linda”, which I appropriate and which constitutes the motto of this work.
